We are the Entheogen Melanin Collective (EMC)—a grassroots initiative created by and for melanated people seeking deeper healing, connection, and remembrance.
We are not a psychedelic organization. We do not serve, sell, or promote illegal substances. We are healers, educators, cultural workers, and space-holders reclaiming ancestral practices and reshaping what wellness can look like for our communities.
Our work is about education, integration, liberation, and reclamation—not psychedelics alone. This is about what happens before, during, and especially after someone has a transformational experience. Whether that experience comes through plant medicine, grief, birth, movement, or breath—we are here to walk with our people through the process.
Entheogen
en·the·o·gen | en-ˈthē-ə-jən : a psychoactive or plant-based substance (like mushrooms, ayahuasca, or peyote) used for spiritual growth, healing, and vibing with the ancestors
Melanated
MEL·uh·nay·duhd | mɛl-ən-eɪ-dᵻd : of or relating to Black folks and people of color. Aka: us.
Collective
col·lec·tive | kə-ˈlek-tiv : a group with shared purpose, power, and passion. No hierarchy—just healing.
Let’s be real: too many healing spaces—clinical, psychedelic, spiritual, even community-based—have never felt truly safe for melanated people.
Despite our ancestral ties to sacred plants, ceremony, and collective healing, we’ve often been shut out or invited in only on someone else’s terms. EMC was born to change that.
We exist to:
Reclaim ancestral traditions and healing wisdom that have always been ours
Normalize culturally safe conversations about wellness, grief, trauma, and joy
Provide integration support after spiritually or emotionally significant experiences
Build community around radical self-care, cultural reconnection, and transformation
Uplift the voices and stories of those historically silenced in healing spaces
Everything we do is rooted in care, intention, and community. Some of our offerings include:
Workshops on harm reduction, grief, legacy, herbal medicine, and spiritual integration
Events like Shroomz N The Hood that center education, culture, and connection—not substances
Support circles and storytelling spaces to process experiences and remember together
Policy & access education around entheogens and plant medicine, from a melanated lens
Family and intergenerational offerings including youth-centered activities
Collaborations with aligned healers, organizers, and businesses
Integration Over Ingestion – The journey doesn’t end with the experience—it begins there.
Cultural Reverence – We root our work in ancestral truths, not just trends.
Radical Education – Knowledge should be shared, not gatekept.
Community First – Healing happens in relationship, not isolation.
Reclamation of Self – This isn’t new. It’s ancient. It’s ours.
